If you’ve been wondering, “Are motorhome prices dropping?” the answer is yes — and buyers finally have the upper hand again.
At the 2025 Hershey RV Show, I spotted new Class C motorhomes starting around $69,990 — a price point we haven’t seen since before COVID. That’s huge news for RV shoppers.
Used RV prices are also starting to come back down, although they’re not quite back to pre-pandemic levels. Still, with interest rates beginning to ease and dealer lots filling up, there’s plenty of opportunity to score a deal this year.
Why Were Motorhome Prices So High?
Between 2020 and 2022, RV prices skyrocketed because of:
- High demand during the pandemic.
- Supply chain shortages for parts and components.
- Factory slowdowns and long shipping delays.
- Inflation, which raised the cost of everything from appliances to tires.
Now that the pandemic boom is over and dealer lots are full again, prices are finally trending downward.
Is There Still a Motorhome Shortage?
Nope — quite the opposite. Dealers across the country are loaded with 2024 and 2025 inventory, and wait times for factory orders are down to about six weeks.
That means:
- More negotiating power for you.
- Better rebates and incentives.
- A true buyer’s market for RVs in 2025.
Are Used Motorhome Prices Dropping Too?
Yes — used motorhome prices are coming down as well. When new RV prices dip, the used market follows.
- Dealers are offering cash rebates and financing incentives.
- As interest rates continue to drop into late 2025, monthly payments will improve.
- Seasonal buying still matters: look for the best deals in late fall and winter.
Should You Buy a Motorhome Now or Wait?
Here’s my take after six years of reviewing RVs:
- If you’re financing: Waiting a bit may get you a lower monthly payment as interest rates fall.
- If you’re paying cash: Now is a great time to negotiate a deal — especially on leftover 2024 models.
- If you want a brand-new rig at a used price: Buy late in the model year, when dealers are pushing to clear older inventory.
Are All RV Prices Dropping?
Yes — most categories are seeing discounts, including:
- Travel trailers
- Fifth wheels
- Class A motorhomes
- Truck campers
The only segment holding strong is Class B camper vans, which are still very popular. But even there, you can negotiate.
👉 Pro Tip: Right now, buyers can negotiate 35–40% off MSRP on many motorhomes.
When’s the Best Time of Year to Buy a Motorhome?
From my experience, the three best times are:
- End of the model year (late summer into fall) – Dealers slash prices on outgoing inventory.
- Off-season (late fall and winter) – Fewer buyers = more negotiating power.
- RV shows – Manufacturers often offer “show-only” discounts.
Final Thoughts: Motorhome Prices in 2025
After years of inflated RV prices, the market is finally cooling off. Motorhome prices are dropping, dealer lots are full, and interest rates are starting to ease.
That makes 2025 one of the best times in years to shop for a motorhome. Whether you’re eyeing a brand-new Class C or a gently used rig, this is a great buyer’s market — just be sure to do your homework and negotiate for the best deal.
